Allotment owned by Alzheimers Scotland for benefit of clients attending the nearby day centre. Clients can visit the allotment and either sit and enjoy the company or help out if they wish. Gardener is volunteer Mavis Allan with the help of young volunteer Craig. Charlie and Gilbert [volunteer and worker at the day centre] also help out with diy jobs on site. The allotment is given over mainly to vegetables with a small amount of fruit. The diy greenhouse mainly produces tomatoes with other crops which will change as required. The produce is used at the day centre for lunches and snacks. Does anyone else have a similar set-up with their allotment? Get in touch.
