Fall of 2016 This is the Month of August, and some of what will be planted. Beds 1-7 are already planted. Bed 11 is still growing. The rest of the beds will be put in from now through Dec. The Plant list shows stuff already gone as well, from the Spring Garden, so you cant go by that to well on numbers and Varieties.

Plan Notes
Plant Garlic cloves (there aren't true seeds) in October for harvest in May or June, cut flower stalks if they show, and it should be another 3-4 weeks. When the tops are about half died back, dig, leave laying for tops to dry well. To plant onions from seed, plant directly in the garden no later than October. By Feb thin to 2 inch spacing, and transplant the thinnings as well. Should sprout within 10 days or so from seed. In spring you must use starts, or bulbs, or seeds for green onions in about 8-10 weeks. Carrots must be covered, and mulched in good from the time of seeding. Seeds saved from several varieties, and most likely are crossed. Keep wet until first true leaves emerge. All Bassicas need to be covered and mulched from seeding to harvest All Spinach and Lettuce needs covers and good mulch Dig sweet potatoes late in Oct after flowering, and cure in full sun for a day or two on a screen and off the ground Artichoke Weed and mulch heavy, feed heavy in Jan. Replant East end of bed in Feb. Cut back tops of Asparagus in Dec. Weed, Mulch bed deep with compost, and feed kelp. Add drip lines to this bed before mulching.
