Plant in light soil mix in early spring. Replant when 1 year old (no sooner). Grows best in a rich, moist, loamy soil with a soil pH of 5.5 to 6.5, good water drainage, and approximately 70 to 75 percent shade. Avoid planting in a poorly drained soil. 4 - 6 Years before harvest
